Recent regulatory changes adopted by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve require us to change our standard overdraft practices that apply to all consumer checking accounts with a Visa Check Card or ATM card. This change will impact how all banks handle overdrafts relative to everyday debit card and ATM transactions.
Currently, StellarOne Bank may authorize and pay ATM and everyday debit card transactions even though you do not have enough money in your account to cover the transaction through our overdraft program or as a courtesy. We charge a fee for covering the overdraft.
