Affinity Program Relationship Manager
Job Objective: The primary purpose of this position is to work with all currently identified Affinity Programs within StellarOne and to develop strategies and products to support these programs, to include: StellarOne@Work, Campus Checking and relocation programs. This position is also responsible for creating new opportunities to promote Affinity Programs with alumni groups and professional networks.
Essential Functions: (Approximately 75-85% of the incumbent’s time will be dedicated to traveling to meet with clients, prospects and conducting presentations. The other 15-25% of the time will be spent preparing reports and partnering with the Marketing Dept. to improve the program). Proactively partners with other lines of business to promote and expand the StellarOne@Work network and bring new companies on board as active participants. Identifies and meets with “decision makers” and employees at current and targeted organizations to present the various benefits and resources available with this program. Actively manages the program’s penetration and retention rates of employees in key businesses. Sets goals for program growth including new account and loan growth by soliciting and bringing in more business and household relationships. Directly manages the activities associated with StellarOne’s Campus Checking program by: Meeting with high school counselors to target student education around credit and banking. Partnering with local colleges and universities in the StellarOne footprint to meet with incoming students and offer StellarOne banking services and products. Partnering with Retail and other lines of business partners to identify opportunities to target student population through campus activities and targeted marketing to parents of students. Drives new Campus Checking account growth to meet established goals. Partners with the Mortgage group to target presentations to companies that specialize in relocation of employees and partners with human resources representatives of commercial clients who will be relocating staff into the StellarOne footprint; i.e., creating a “Newcomers Program.” Works directly with Marketing to enhance benefits and scope of the program, including recommending/developing new products and features. Develops and prepares monthly and ad hoc reports to identify and track new accounts and new account relationships. Partners with local schools and organizations to promote financial literacy efforts.
Non-Essential Functions: Other duties and responsibilities will be identified and added to the job requirements for this position as the program grows and evolves.

Compliance: Performs assigned responsibilities in compliance with all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Maintains current operating knowledge of all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements through the successful completion of mandatory compliance and regulatory training and attendance at all mandatory regulatory compliance activities.
Education, Skills and Experience: Required- Four-year college degree in finance, business or related field and/or equivalent job experience. A minimum of five years retail banking experience with a minimum of two years management experience. Effective leadership skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the bank’s various lines of business. Strong analytical skills to recognize trends in the market and understand the bank’s demographics. Ability to travel within the bank’s geographic footprint on a frequent basis. Self-motivated, goals oriented and results driven. Proven sales and business development skills. Well developed presentation skills (verbal/technical/professional delivery). Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with multiple lines of business. Ability to build and sustain excellent client relationships. Ability to influence results, without having direct authority over production. Ability to plan, organize and executive a process/plan in order to achieve results. PC proficiency.
