Deposit Operations Clerk II
Job Objective: Responsible for the accurate and complete maintenance of the Customer Information File (CIF) and associated documentation for StellarOne Corporation.
Essential Functions: Performs electronic maintenance/verification activities on CIF for all clients. Reviews all new account/CIF information for compliance to bank policy and governmental regulations. Ensure associated documentation of client relationship/authority is accurate, such as resolutions, partnership agreements, power of attorney forms, trust agreements, death certificates, etc. 30% Verifies all CIP information per bank policy and procedures. Documents CIP exceptions on appropriate report for escalation and resolution of errors when information is inaccurate, incomplete or missing. Clears exception items when the correct or missing information is received. Assists with the delivery of quality internal and external customer service through verbal or written contact with clients. ongoing Builds and maintains partnerships with all employees in department as well as those in all other areas of the bank. ongoing Performs CIF Scrub as assigned. Adheres to all bank policies and regulations applicable to this position. Cross train on other Deposit Operations Departmental duties. Performs all other duties that may be assigned.
Progression Requirements: Grade 2 – entry level position with minimal job related experience and knowledge of banking CIF application/records. Works under close supervision. Grade 3 –knowledge of banking CIF applications/records more extensive due to 2 or more years experience directly related to position to include working knowledge of applicable regulations and laws. Works independently with intermediate supervision. Grade 4 - knowledge of banking CIF applications/records more extensive due to 4 or more years experience directly related to position. Has developed knowledge of applicable regulations and laws to be considered a subject matter experts by peers and internal clients. Works independently with minimal supervision.

Education, Skills and Experience: Required – High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years previous job-related experience. PC proficiency with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows. Excellent data entry skills. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work accurately with detailed information.
