Financial Consultant
Job Summary: Provides information on the investment products available through UVEST and provides guidance to help clients reach their long-term financial goals in a value-added, needs-based manner.
Essential Functions: Business Development- Identifies prospects through business and community contacts and referrals from bank employees. Arranges appointment with prospective and existing clients. Meets with prospective and existing clients to learn their specific needs and situations including their investment experience, time horizon and risk tolerance. Discusses long-term goals that require funding.
Administrative: Opens UVEST accounts and directs investments. Updates employees on referral progress. Adheres to all rules and regulations applicable to this position. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Customer Service: Makes recommendations to help clients achieve their financial goals for a comfortable retirement, educational purposes or to meet medical expenses and/or other financial needs. Services existing clients and makes contacts to discuss market changes, etc.
Education, Skills and Experience: Required – Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field; Three to five years experience in finance or related field; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Comprehensive knowledge of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other investments; Ability to sell investment products and meet sales goals; Comprehensive knowledge of all trust functions ;PC proficiency.
Preferred – NASD Series 7; Life and Health Insurance designation.
