Credit Analysis Manager
Job Objective: Primary function will be to oversee and manage the entire Credit Analysis Function for the Bank as a whole, while also personally producing high quality credit underwriting and analyses on the largest and most complex credits within the bank.
Essential Functions: Managerial Responsibilities (30%): Incumbent will be responsible for managing the entire credit analysis staff for the Bank. The staff will consist of Jr. and Sr. Credit Analysts as well as the Credit Monitoring Analyst/s. The Manager will be responsible for reviewing and approving the work of the Jr Analysts, but will also be responsible for oversight of the work of the Sr Analysts and the Credit Monitoring Analyst. In addition to the personnel responsibilities with the credit analysis staff, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the workflow of the department, as well as crafting processes and procedures for the department that best fit the strategic plan for the Bank. This responsibility will include ensuring the FTEs and staffing model is sufficient for the Bank’s underwriting, analytical and monitoring needs. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Credit Analysis Department is producing the needed volume of credit analyses on a timely basis to support the Commercial Department’s loan production. In addition to timely production, the manager will be responsible for ensuring that the analyses produced by the department as a whole are of high quality, ensuring the independent oversight needed for the risk management of the Bank’s commercial portfolio.
Credit Analysis Production (60%): Incumbent will prepare high quality, independent and timely credit analyses for the largest and most complex types of credit relationships, assessing overall credit risk and repayment viability for the commercial request and/or relationship. These analyses will likely include complex projection work, and sensitivity analyses, as well as in-depth industry research. These analyses will provide recommendations for or against the approval of the credit, but will also provide recommendations for appropriate loan structure, risk rating and on-going monitoring practices to ensure adequate risk management of the credit.
Oversight of Credit Monitoring Process (10%): Credit Analysis Manager will oversee the Credit Monitoring Function that is housed in the Credit Analysis area. This Credit Monitoring Function will manage the Bank’s stress testing process for the Commercial Real Estate Income Producing Property portfolio. The function will also provide monitoring for the Bank’s covenant testing and borrowing base customers, affording timely and accurate calculations while maintaining the independence needed to monitor the inherent risk in these portfolios. The monitoring function will also provide reporting directly to Sr Management and Loan Review which will highlight risks uncovered during the monitoring process.
Performance Management: Documents employee performance throughout the work cycle. Provides timely and appropriate feedback/coaching as necessary. Plans for performance discussions, clarifies performance expectations, conducts performance reviews and recommends appropriate pay adjustments.

Compliance: Performs assigned responsibilities in compliance with all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Maintains current operating knowledge of all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements through the successful completion of mandatory compliance and regulatory training and attendance at all mandatory regulatory compliance activities.
Non-Essential Functions: Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Credit and Risk Officer and/or the Director of Commercial Credit Administration.
Education, Skills and Experience: Required- Incumbent must possess 7-10 years of Commercial Credit Analysis experience with emphasis on high dollar and complex credits, including A&D, Income Producing R/E and Operating Company analysis. Incumbent must be proficient with projections, sensitivity analyses and industry research. Direct experience with Moody’s Risk Analyst Software is also highly preferred. At least 3-5 years of managerial experience is also required. Proficiency with WORD, Excel and Microsoft Office is expected.
Special Requirements: Because the credit analysis staff is geographically separated, the managerial responsibilities of this position will require some limited travel on occasion.
