B2B & B2C Loan Processing/Closing Team Leader
Job Summary: Supervises, mentors and coaches other employees in the Bank 2 Consumer (B2C) and Bank 2 Business (B2B)Processing/Closing area. Oversees and manages the workflow and the preparation of all required paperwork. Reviews documents as necessary to expedite the loan closing process. Serves as the back-up systems administrator for the Baker Hill Origination System.
Essential Functions: Operations- Oversees the processing/closing for all B2B & B2C loans. As necessary, performs all the duties and functions assigned to the B2B & B2C Loan Processors & Closers, including but not limited to: Preparing required disclosures and mails to customer if applicable. Processing B2B & B2C applications after approval, including but not limited to information verification, ordering of flood certificates, appraisals, appraisal evaluations and/or reviews and title searches. Reviewing loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing including, but no limited to the clearing of title issues. Sending all required Flood Zone/Insurance notification to clients. Checking the status of HMDA, HOEPA, and OFAC, and completes each as required by the respective regulation. Sending Adverse Action Notices on declined B2C & B2B loans. Preparing all required documents required to properly close a loan, delivering the closing package to the designated party for signatures, and forwarding all supporting documentation to Loan Service. Reviewing closing documentation for accuracy. Ensures that all HMDA documentation has been completed on declined and withdrawn B2B & B2C loans. Adheres to all rules and regulations applicable to this position. Performs all other duties that may be assigned.
Administrative- Serves as Back-Up System Administrator for the Baker Hill Origination System.
Leadership- Provides direct supervision to the assigned team members and prioritizes work and schedules. Provides daily support by providing problem resolutions concerning related credit file issues, i.e. UCC recordings, Certificate of Good Standing requests, Title Searches, Appraisals, etc. Prepares and conducts employee performance evaluations.
Customer Relations- Works collaboratively with loan officers, realtors, and attorney's offices to coordinate all closing dates while practicing the StellarOne core values. Ensures hand delivery of loan packages, when necessary, to promote good will.
Education, Skills and Experience: Required- A minimum of five years banking experience. Excellent supervision, organizational, telephone etiquette, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and direct the work of others. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work accurately with detailed information. PC proficiency with working knowledge of Word and Excel. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Ability to make sound business decisions, use good judgment and apply established policies and procedures.
Preferred- Previous banking experiences in consumer, business and real estate loan documentation. Prior experience with Harland LaserPro software.
