Senior Loan Review Clerk

Job Objective: Responsible for obtaining recorded Deeds of Trust and Final Title Policies missing from consumer and commercial loan files. Assist lending staff with other type document exceptions as assigned. Reviews new loan files to insure the bank has perfected liens supported by properly completed and recorded legal documents. Reviews various documents for accuracy and completeness. Enters new loan exceptions to necessary tracking systems.

Essential Functions: Obtain recorded Deeds of Trust and Final Title policies by contacting attorney, title companies, or clerk’s office. Assist lending staff with resolving any errors that may be found on Deeds of Trust and other legal documents. Assist Lending staff with clearing of other type material loan exceptions. Maintain a positive partnership with bank lending staff. Reviews new consumer and commercial loan packages according to a work plan based on identified risk factors. Enters new loan documentation exceptions from reviewed packages to the collateral tracking system. Inputs credit policy exceptions, as stated in loan policy, for all loans. Learns and remains current on StellarOne Corporation loan policy and procedures. Adheres to all bank policies and regulations applicable to this position. Creates various reports from the Baker Hill Exception Advisor system to be used for clearing exceptions and to assist Lending staff as needed.

Education, Skills and Experience Required: Previous bank or paralegal experience required. Excellence organization, telephone etiquette, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment with a minimum of supervision. Ability to work accurately with detailed information. PC proficiency and knowledge of Word and Excel applications.

Special Requirements: May require travel to other StellarOne locations or to local Clerk of Court offices on occasion. ADA Specifications (Work Requirements). The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop and reach and is frequently required to use hand to finger association to handle or feel objects or operated a PC.
