Financial Center Manager
Job Summary The Financial Center Manager I is responsible for generating, maintaining, servicing and managing the profitable business and retail relationships of a financial center office with up to $50 million in loans and deposits. Attains results by developing associates, expanding customer relationships, achieving sales goals and exceeding customer service expectations.
Essential Functions: Customer Service-Treats all current and prospective clients and bank personnel with courtesy and respect and is responsive to their needs. Represents the bank in the community through positive client relations and active involvement in community activities and events. Ensures that the staff receives customer service training and follows through on any occurrences of poor customer service performance.
Business Development- Establishes, develops and manages client relationships through needs assessment and consultative selling techniques. Identifies/refers qualified clients to specialized sales staff when appropriate. Increases deposits and loans through sales efforts to achieve branch goals. Develops strategic sales and marketing plans for the branch and spearheads marketing campaigns customized to the local market. Establishes and helps to achieve internal performance objectives for the financial center’s business volume, deposits, loan portfolios and sales goals. Achieves sales, service and retention goals while supporting proactive outbound client calling and promotional programs.
Sales- Serves as sales leader for the financial center (FC) by: Establishing and implementing FC sales goals. Promoting and expanding sales of bank products. Leading and coaching FC associates in the attainment of sales goals. Communicating and monitoring FC sales goals to achieve results. Leading and/or participating in weekly sales meetings. Proactively contacting clients and potential clients to promote bank products to generate new business opportunities.
Leadership- Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the FC including management of employees. Provides current product knowledge, sales leadership training and coaching to develop staff personnel to help them achieve their individual potential and meet FC goals. Conducts monthly staff meetings to share general knowledge, provide feedback and discuss specific information. Coaches and counsels employees on a regular basis for enhanced and improved performance. Maintains a professional, business-like atmosphere within the office. Works with available resources (Human Resources and Retail Administration) to manage staff and operational issues effectively.
Operations-Ensures that established policies and procedures, fair lending guidelines, compliance regulations and security guidelines are followed while developing and maintaining a high level of profitable sales activities. Leads or participates in monthly operations meetings. Plans and manages FC financial performance to include effective management of non-sufficient funds/overdraft actions, fee collections, charge-offs and other profit-centered items. Maintains internal audit controls, ensures FC audits are performed according to policy guidelines and exceptions are addressed promptly. Provides annual security training and makes certain security policies and procedures are followed. Works with management to establish the annual budget and monitors expenses throughout the year. Ensures appropriate staffing levels to maintain quality sales and service. Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Performance Management-Documents employee performance throughout the work cycle. Provides timely and appropriate feedback/coaching as necessary. Reviews staff members’ performance on a regular basis, prepares annual performance evaluations and recommends appropriate pay adjustments. Prepares and delivers timely employee performance evaluations.
Compliance- Performs assigned responsibilities in compliance with all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Maintains current operating knowledge of all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements through the successful completion of mandatory compliance and regulatory training and attendance at all mandatory regulatory compliance activities.
Education, Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in business or finance and/or comparable retail banking experience; Three to five years experience in retail banking or the finance industry; Two to three years lending experience; One to two years in management; Effective leadership and supervisory skills; Previous sales and business development skills; Excellent interpersonal, public relations and customer service skills; Excellent organizational and verbal/written communications skills; Ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions; Active community involvement; PC proficiency.
