Sr. Credit Analyst
Job Summary: Responsible for analyzing credit quality and assessing credit risk of commercial and real estate loans for new and existing customers.
Essential Duties: Assists Loan Officers in Commercial, Consumer and Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriting. Prepares Financial Spreadsheets. Prepares credit analyses for moderate to complex types of loans in order to assess credit risk and repayment viability. Completes proforma analysis and sensitivity analysis. Monitors existing loan relationships to evaluate credit risk and to assess compliance with Loan Agreements, Credit Policy. Trains junior credit analysts, management trainees and junior lenders. Supervises junior credit analysts.
Must possess the following: Working knowledge of finance and accounting. Knowledge of basic banking laws and regulations necessary to evaluate credit risk. Superior analytical and communication skills. Prior banking experience. Completion of formal Credit Training Program with emphasis on credit underwriting. Extensive knowledge of business financial statements, corporate tax forms, and partnership tax returns. Experience in analyzing personal financial statements and personal tax returns. Strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and spreadsheet software (e.g., Moody’s). Ability to work independently, to meet deadlines, and to tolerate stressful situations.
Education, Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance. Appropriate work experience could substitute for educational requirements. 5+ years Credit Analysis or Commercial Lending Experience. This job is intended for Credit Professionals.
